I was able to download the file, but when I opened it there was nothing
there. Could you try and send the log files by themselves?

I don't know what you did wrong Rajiv, but I can read the log files just
fine. Unfortunately they do not show that grub was updated on that day.
As Brain said, there isn't enough information to proceed here. We would
need to know how to reproduce this to continue.

There really isn't enough information to proceed here. We need to know
which packages were installed as a part of the update process to
determine what went wrong. The files /var/log/apt/term.log and
/var/log/apt/history.log would both help here.
