Actually, I had 3d Acceleration turned on.
I was using Gnome Shell 3.8 as well, so without some kind of video

Have you tried the Beta-Version of Ubuntu?
I had already the same problem but it is now fixed in Precise Beta1 from 1th
March.
If this did not fix the problem, please reopen this bugreport (hope, i'm
right)...

I have tried all above options and My mouse cursor is still not visible
. It disappeared after running updates for first time.
Ubuntu 12.04 is running on my Mac book Pro with Mac OS X Ver 10.7.3
Inter Core i7 with Parallels Desktop 7 (Build 7.0.15055)
Please provide any alternative options

Hans, thanks for the update.
With the Daily build of 18 Feb, the mouse is now visible in the
VirtualBox virtual machine without 'Disable Mouse integration' or
'Enable Absolute Pointing Device' disabled.
So, the problem is fixed as far as I'm concerned.

I have been bothered by this problem as well, but after a recent batch
of upgrades (including a new xorg version I think), my cursor is now
working as normal. Could anyone else check if this is also true for
others?
(Note that I get some black flickering and rectangles from time to time
in the vm,

Precise because VBox is a widely used solution for testing the
development release.

thanks for the workaround.
In my VirtualBox (4.1.8) the fix is slightly different:
Machine > Settings > System > Enable Absolute Pointing Device
should be unchecked to make mouse pointer work.

I wonder if this is a VirtualBox problem. Creating an Ubuntu VM seems to
have Mouse Integration enabled by default.
Work around:
Selecting the VirtualBox 'Machine' menu on the VM window and clicking on
'Disable Mouse Integration' makes the cursor visible
inside the Ubuntu VM. Once you have click
