It seems to work OK now on my laptop (where the new icons I've drawn
aren't installed/configured), so I must presume it's fixed now, whether
by code or by magic.

Rick, I've set them back to New, as there was clearly an issue. It is
not clear if it still an issue. I'll test with current updates, and
without custom icons, and in the guest session, to see if it still an
issue, and close if it appears to be fixed.

Interestingly enough, I decided to draw a set of Tango styled icons for
Hydrogen tonight. After pretty much finishing up the smaller sizes (16,
24, 32, 48), I decided to render them and add to my theme. After
updating the icon cache for my ~/.icons/hicolor theme, after putting the
