Can you try running stress -c 4 ( or 6 if you have that many cpu cores ) for a while and see if that reboots? This seems to be a hardware problem of some kind, or possibly a kernel problem. You might also try booting back into the oneiric kernel and see if it happens there. -- You received

I've been using virtualbox for a while under oneiric and it hasn't had problems, so I do suspect this is a precise kernel issue. I ran stress for 40 minutes, and the machine was clearly working hard... The fans were going full. sensors at the end said: $ sensors k10temp-pci-00c3 Adapter: PCI
