I have exactly same problem. I was using virtualbox on 11.10, it worked
perfectly. After upgrade, when I run virtual machine, computer stuck and
reboots after less then a minute.
Is there any solution for this?

The process of trying both univere and virtualbox.org versions involved
uninstalling the package, which removed the kernel module virtualbox
needs to work. Now I am having trouble getting the kernel module for
oneiric's kernel back.

Huh? You should just be able to choose the old kernel from the grub
menu and then run virtualbox normally; you shouldn't need to reinstall
it.

Can you try running stress -c 4 ( or 6 if you have that many cpu cores )
for a while and see if that reboots? This seems to be a hardware
problem of some kind, or possibly a kernel problem. You might also try
booting back into the oneiric kernel and see if it happens there.

I've been using virtualbox for a while under oneiric and it hasn't had
problems, so I do suspect this is a precise kernel issue. I ran stress
for 40 minutes, and the machine was clearly working hard... The fans
were going full. sensors at the end said:

What about if you run virtualbox under the oneiric kernel?

Can you please install the lm-sensors package and run the following:
sudo modprobe coretemp
watch sensors
Then start virtualbox. Keep an eye on the cpu temperature and see if it
gets high before the crash. After the crash, please attach your
/var/log/syslog file.

And here's the syslog from that period. The inverter entries are from
