But maybe you should have the bc43xx kernel driver depend on the bc43xx
firmware as a Debian package itself? Then modify the bc43xx-fwcutter
program to create a simple Debian package and install that by default,
rather than just dump the firmware
Can't do that. This driver working does not depend on fwcutter being
installed, just that the fw is available.

That's not realy a bug. When you have a broadcom wlan interface, you
have two options:
1) using windows drivers with ndiswrapper
2) using thopen source drivers
When choosing the second option, you have to install bc43xx-fwcutter and
extract the firmware. Because the firmware is not and cant be
Hm, maybe it is sensefull to backlist the bcm43xx by default, so this
error disappears and when installing bcm43xx-fwcutter the blacklisting
is removed automaticly.
