I can confirm too that this bug seems fixed.

So far this seems to be the case with me too. Looks like that may have
fixed it!

After the last bunch of system updates and a switch to the
2.6.20-14-lowlatency kernel, the bug has disappeared.
After upgrading the system, I've been using synergy for a couple of days
and never noticed any lockups. Unfortunately I cannot say if the bug is
still present using the
I agree I can't seem to pin this bug down. No error's or tell tail
signs. One train of thought did point to the network manager and
wireless. I'm connected by a wired LAN, and something is telling me to
disable the wireless interface and see if that's whats causing issues.
I'll give this a go and
One more note,
I'm also on a IBM Thinkpad but a T43p
Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5751M Gigabit
Ethernet PCI Express (rev 11) :- So this is different (kinda rules out a
driver issuse)
What wireless device is in your machine? Mine is:
Network controller: Intel
My wireless nic is the Intel Pro Wireless 2100. However, I always unload
the driver (kernel module ipw2100) and only use the wired nic so the
wireless nic has nothing to do with this bug.
I think I will try and install ubuntu edgy on my computer running the
synergy client and see if I can
I confirm this bug.
I'm using Synergy client 1.3.1 on a Feisty laptop and Synergy server
1.3.1 on a windows machine. I had the same configuration in Edgy and it
worked correctly.
I'm not experiencing any network lockups in other applications. Ssh and
NX are working just fine. I cannot say
One more thing:
My notebook is a toshiba SM30 and I'm connected through the wired
interface, so I think the wireless device has nothing to do with this
bug.

I can confirm this bug. I also use synergy and ssh.
Today I tried uninstalling network manager because it reported errors in
the syslog but unfortunately that did not make any difference at all.
There are no synergy errors to be found in syslog.

Network freezes in feisty
Sorry, forgot the important part.
I am running up-to-date Feisty on an IBM Thinkpad T41.
Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82540EP Gigabit Ethernet Controller
(Mobile) (rev 03)
kernel 2.6.20-13-generic #2 SMP Sun Mar 25 00:21:25 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux
synergy 1.3.1-2ubuntu1
ssh
I just decided to do a simple test. I tried running the synergy server
from an old ubuntu edgy installation I had on my Thinkpad.
In fact it showed three interesting things:
1. I don't need ssh to be running to produce the bug.
2. I have never seen the bug before when running my edgy
I just compiled the original synergy sources and installed them on my
two computers running feisty. I still see the bug.
Also, I tried running 'dmesg' when it freezes. However, nothing is
output. Nothing is to be found in syslog either. I wonder if this is
some X related error in feisty.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. After the system / network freezes could you please execute the
command 'dmesg' and add the full output as an attachment? Thanks in
advance.

OK here is the dmesg output. Its happening pretty frequently now.
