Are we talking about Precise ?If yes, during the develop cycle things like
this can happens, i've upgraded yesterday more than 400 package from terminal
without any kind of problem.
So please attach here, using the button below 'Add attachment or patch', the
files:
Yep, Precise, I know this can happen, I didn't run dist-upgrade because of
pending packages which is common on dev cycle.
Same situation on pc alpha-2 install on 5th feb. and laptop install since
alpha-1. Log files are from pc.

Empty /var/log/dist-upgrade/
