I believe is not a specific pdb file that causes the hanging it seem to
be ramdom. I will try to force the bug opening several pdb files and I
will attach those pdb.

Could you please attach a PDB file, which causes the problem? I've tried
some - and they work perfectly in gedit 3.3.3
