Actually that looks clean. See if this works from the command line:
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
That will upgrade any packages that need to be upgraded. Even it it has to
remove the old ones first.

I've tried to run the upgrade, but this time the upgrader just crashed without
warnings or texts of any kind, and it had deactivated the natty sources and
added this one instead

Wow, the logs are complaining about a lot of dependencies. I am
guessing they are from the K desktop environment you had installed at
one point. We can proceed with trying to remove some items but it may
leave the system in an *unusable* state. At this point I think your
best bet would be a fres
I think a clean install would be the thing to do, partly because I can't afford
to deal with an unstable system.
My last question is, then, can I do a fresh install of the 11.10 (or, wait
until the next month and go for the 12.04) directly, or do I have to install
first the 11.04 an d then do th
No you dont have to wait. You can install 11.10 now and when 12.04
becomes stable in April, upgrade to that. If you are planning to
upgrade though, try and leave the system as 'default' as you can.
Installing custom PPA's can also cause problems for an upgrade.
