Public bug reported: I've rebooted and updated a few times to make sure this is an actual problem, but I began to notice a couple of days ago that my thinkpad continued to show the "full battery with ⌁" icon even when I unplugged the laptop from the mains. I only caught on to this when the laptop's own power LED turned orange at one point despite the ⌁ icon remaining in the status bar.
Previously this would show the battery level as a sort of meter, and the indicator would turn red once it reached a certain threshold of remaining power. When I unplug, syslog says: Feb 17 11:43:15 vezza kernel: [ 788.788901] thinkpad_acpi: EC reports that Thermal Table has changed Feb 17 11:43:16 vezza kernel: [ 790.340246] e1000e 0000:00:19.0: PME# enabled When I plug back in: Feb 17 11:43:43 vezza anacron[7958]: Anacron 2.3 started on 2012-02-17 Feb 17 11:43:43 vezza anacron[7958]: Normal exit (0 jobs run) Feb 17 11:43:43 vezza kernel: [ 816.782389] thinkpad_acpi: EC reports that Thermal Table has changed Feb 17 11:43:43 vezza kernel: [ 816.796071] e1000e 0000:00:19.0: BAR 0: set to [mem 0xf2600000-0xf261ffff] (PCI address [0xf2600000-0xf261ffff]) Feb 17 11:43:43 vezza kernel: [ 816.796079] e1000e 0000:00:19.0: BAR 1: set to [mem 0xf2625000-0xf2625fff] (PCI address [0xf2625000-0xf2625fff]) Feb 17 11:43:43 vezza kernel: [ 816.796085] e1000e 0000:00:19.0: BAR 2: set to [io 0x1840-0x185f] (PCI address [0x1840-0x185f]) Feb 17 11:43:43 vezza kernel: [ 816.796107] e1000e 0000:00:19.0: restoring config space at offset 0xf (was 0x100, writing 0x10b) Feb 17 11:43:43 vezza kernel: [ 816.796132] e1000e 0000:00:19.0: restoring config space at offset 0x1 (was 0x100000, writing 0x100107) Feb 17 11:43:43 vezza kernel: [ 816.796170] e1000e 0000:00:19.0: PME# disabled Feb 17 11:43:43 vezza kernel: [ 816.796259] e1000e 0000:00:19.0: irq 44 for MSI/MSI-X I expected to see something from this fancy new "upower" daemon I found running, but I don't understand precise's power architecture well enough to be sure and the symptom I saw is in the indicator.
