I am attaching my .bashrc (note that I have changed only its last 15 lines or so, the rests is default ubuntu). This bug manifests itself only if the size of bash history is set over 500, and maybe the way the size is set matters. Anyway, this should be fairly easy to reproduce, can you reproduce
