Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: vmware-player

When I execute vmplayer in Ubuntu ("Edgy Eft", though using several
packages of "Feisty Fawn" - the kernel is one of them, though I'm afraid
I'm not sure which other are), the fonts are all garbled. They appear as
boxes. A screenshot is here:

I've looked on the net and the most similar report is one by a guy using
Gentoo, here:

http://www.mail-archive.com/gentoo-
amd64%40lists.gentoo.org/msg07190.html

Hope it helps. I can manage quite well because I've used vmplayer
before, but every time some message pops up I feel a little bit
mistified about its meaning :-)

Some versions:
    vmware-player 1.0.2-2
    vmware-player-modules-2.6.20-9
    linux-image-2.6.20-9-generic
    ia32-libs 1.5ubuntu6
    ia32-libs-gtk 23

Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance.
