After installing lubuntu-desktop in ubuntu I was not able (running the lubuntu 
session) to set the behavior on closing the laptop's lid. Configuring power 
management is a standard task - should be possible in any desktop environment.
It turned out that I needed xfce4-power-manager which was not installed because 
it is only "recommended", not a dependency.
I suggest making lubunt-desktop depend on xfce4-power-manager.
