Public bug reported:

Hi! I'm running up-to-date Feisty. I have (a long time ago) configured
the update manager to automatically check for updates and display them
in the notification area on the panel. (I think that's the default
setting, I just tweaked it a bit.)

The notification appears when it detects updates. The update manager
works. However, there's a small problem: the notification icon has a
right-click menu with a few options. The last of them is "Preferences".
If I remember correctly, this should show a window where I could choose
auto-downloading of updates and things like that. Right now, that option
doesn't do anything. I click on it, I get the "working" mouse cursor for
a split second, and then nothing happens.

The update manger window itself doesn't seem to have a menu or any other
method of reaching the config menu. Where should I look next?
