This has been fixed in restricted-manager 0.14, which updated the nvidia
lists for the current kernel.

On a side note, shouldn't the nvidia legacy driver be installed by
default (when using restricted manager) for those cards that require it
(e.g. MX440, see bug 92856)?

Yeah, thats an issue, assigning to the desktop-effects team, they should
know where it goes.
To help speed this along, providing the output of dmesg, lspci -vv and
lspci -vvn as attachments to this bug will make the issue (and
solution!) apparent much sooner.
