Do you get an apport crash report then or could you get a backtrace (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash)? That could be a duplicate from bug #90444 -- Run Application on 20070319.1 seems to refresh Gnome https://launchpad.net/bugs/94433 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list

I did not notice apport ever appearing when gnome-panel was running. However, after installing gnome-panel-dbgsym, apport appeared when I attempted to reproduce the problem. So, you will find the generated information in bug #96064: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-panel/+bug/96064

To more precise, pressing the Run... button in the Run Application window while Gnome is still loading its applets does not seem to refresh the window manager. However, after waiting a few seconds for Gnome to load its applets, pressing the Run... button consistently seems to refresh the window

Thank you for your bug. Are you sure that's not gnome-panel crashing? Does it happen every time? ** Changed in: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: None = gnome-panel Importance: Undecided = Medium Assignee: (unassigned) = Ubuntu Desktop Bugs Status: Unconfirmed = Needs Info

Yes, it seems to be gnome-panel crashing. Here is what I did: 1. Look at the current pid of gnome-panel 2. Pressed the Run... button to reproduce the problem 3. Looked at the pid of gnome-panel again The pids before and after the problem were indeed different. -- Run Application on 20070319.1
