Hi,
this is what have i done to this problem.
via terminal:
1 - remove unity
2 - reinstall unity but seems there has been some issues with dependencies. so
i remove all the dependencies. ubuntu ask me to install gnome-shell so i
install gnome-shell.
3 - then reinstall unity - it download all
I experienced the same problem even after upgrading to 12.04.

i am also affected. nothings happened no matter what setting i choose.
