I'm happy to say that this bug is fixed for me. I'm writing this from
Ubuntu Trusty Alpha amd64 20140110 daily build, using keyboard only once
- to run OnBoard. Multi(or rather double)touch is working also. Thanks
whoever fixed this!

ove, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com
/daily-live/current/ .
OK, so I've been able to install ubuntu 13.04, and this problem still
exists.

This bug affects me too, with the Atmel maXTouch Digitizer touchscreen
on the new Samsung XE700T1C (aka ATIV Smart PC Pro). After a while of
touching the screen it gets locked and I'm no longer able to touch
anything... the touch events appear to get accumulated and only released
when another
Quantal final still has this bug.

I also have this bug on my gigabyte t1005 cando touchscreen. A
workaround for me is replacing unity with avant-window-navigator.

I tried the daily quantal desktop iso from 5jun12 and it's still broken.
In fact, it's worse because touching anywhere on the screen causes the
cursor to jump to the top left edge.

btw the workaround mentioned above in post #4 does not work in ubuntu.
It seems the reference hid-multitouch is somehow different in ubuntu,
and not accessible to root. Is there some other workaround.
