Thanks for your response and explanations. The sources.list modification
isn't necessary. If I run the suggested command I get the following
output: report file does not contain required fields: CoreDump Package
ExecutablePath
Is this expected? The modification time doesn't change after the above

Could you open a console, do 'ls /var/crash' and then:
apport-retrace usplash.crash filename where usplash.crash filename is the
name as it appears in the output of ls /var/crash.
And then attached the usplash.crash file.,, please.
Soon this won't be necessary anymore, but because you are using
well, you probably need to 'sudo apt-get install apport-retrace' and use 'sudo
apport-retrace usplash.crsh filename . Now that I think about it, maybe you
even have to edit /etc/sources.list and add a:
