I'm on the nightly build too, but in my case Alt+F2 always launches the
application I type. Can you explain your issue with more detail?

This is now resolved on latest nightly build for me. Basically it was
that I couldn't launch things like remmina or shutter from either unity
or alt-f2.

Issue is now resolved with latest nightly update. Basically I could not
launch things like remmina or shutter from either unity or alt-f2
but all sorted now :-)
