Where is this elusive FIX? Nothing as at the 30/03/07 shows that the problem has been solved. The SATA Device I have attached to a JMicron SATA2 controller is still FUBAR since the last week or two, since time of pre beta using kernel 2.6.20-11-generic. I have keep my updates coming and nothing

Thanks for that, wierd about the regression but as long as things are fixed. Will look further into the sound issue and lodge a report as needed. Cya. -- /dev/sdb3 failing to load with linux-image-2.6.20-12 https://launchpad.net/bugs/95040 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.c

The JMicron problem was a regression that has been fixed (at least in your case). As for your sound problems, please file a new bug report with an appropriate subject. It will get better attention from the sound guys. ** Changed in: linux-source-2.6.20 (Ubuntu) Assignee: Tim Gardner => Ubuntu

Ok, done as requested and added the txt files you requested. I believe it is a JMicron SATA controller built onboard the ASRock 939 SATA Dual motherboard I have. The problem was fixed cause I had a similar issue earlier in the testing stage but it has reared it' s head with the latest initramfs a

Please go back to a version of the kernel that boots and attach (do not inline) the output of these commands: dmesg > dmesg.txt lspci -vv > lspci.txt sudo dmidecode > dmidecode.txt If you have a JMicron SATA controller, then the problem has already been fixed. ** Changed in: linux-source-2.6.20

Seems to be an issue with ata1 in the boot process. Fails both softreset and hardreset. No idea about this one and I have not been able to find any log reports specific to that kernel when I boot in a earlier kernel. Could this be an initramfs problem? Help. -- /dev/sdb3 failing to load with l
