Where is this elusive FIX?
Nothing as at the 30/03/07 shows that the problem has been solved.
The SATA Device I have attached to a JMicron SATA2 controller is still FUBAR

Thanks for that, wierd about the regression but as long as things are

Will look further into the sound issue and lodge a report as needed.

The JMicron problem was a regression that has been fixed (at least in
your case). As for your sound problems, please file a new bug report
with an appropriate subject. It will get better attention from the sound
guys.

I believe it is a JMicron SATA controller built onboard the ASRock 939
SATA Dual motherboard I have. The problem was fixed cause I had a
similar issue earlier in the testing stage but it has reared it' s head
with the latest initramfs a
Please go back to a version of the kernel that boots and attach (do not
inline) the output of these commands:
dmesg > dmesg.txt
lspci -vv > lspci.txt
sudo dmidecode > dmidecode.txt
If you have a JMicron SATA controller, then the problem has already been
fixed.

Seems to be an issue with ata1 in the boot process.
Fails both softreset and hardreset.
No idea about this one and I have not been able to find any log reports
specific to that kernel when I boot in a earlier kernel.
Could this be an initramfs problem?
Help.
