This does not seem to be a bug in emacs, so closing those tasks. w3m-el
hasn't "released" in many years, but the snapshot package does have this
fixed. Moving status back to Confirmed.

Reproduced on emacs-snapshot and emacs23 in Maverick. Marking as
Confirmed for w3m-el since it is rebinding the keystroke sequence
without taking ido-mode preferences into account.

Oops, it seems that enabling ido everywhere wasn't the perfect solution - it
prevents dired from opening a directory. So i was forced to add to my .emacs
(i'm using dired-single.el for keeping all dired output in one buffer)

There is a function (ido-everywhere) -- and corresponding option in
customize-group, ido -- which should be set on in order to make fast
buffer switching work in w3m. Such possibility makes this bug a simple
feature.
