Thank you for your answer.
I want to ask you for some help. As we are after the upstream version
freeze a new version of a software (here HPLIP 1.7.3 instead of 1.7.1)
is only taken into the distribution if we can be relatively sure that
there are no regressions. Therefore I want to ask you to go
Yes, the HPLIP Toolbox 1.7.3 recommends the correct drivers. Driver
recommendation is working fine with HPLIP 1.7.3 in my case, that is the
PSC 1110.

Can you do the tests described in bug 98520 (2nd posting)? This way we
can decide whether we solve this problem bia HPLIP 1.7.3 or by patching

One more thing... when I modify the Printer settings, it does not modify
them on a global level, only for HPLIP Toolbox. For example I may set
anything there, if I pring in another App, it has the default settings.
But I tried modifiyng settings in the CUPS Web interface, and those were

Yes, I have seen this defect. There is obviously a bug in the code that
calculates the total content height of the QScrollview and it gets clipped
at that point. I'm not exactly sure why it is not 100% reproducible.
I will look into the root cause.

This one I cannot reproduce (on both 32-bit and 64-bit). For me the last
line of the print control page is not cut (but this is at least better
than the numerous crashes of the HP Toolbox which were reported).

Everything is working now, thanks. :)
I found only a very minor UI bug in it:

I can confirm this. I have an HP PSC 1110, and the HPLIP Toolbox recommended me
only Laserjet drivers.
I had to do the configuration in the CUPS Web Interface.
I like the HPLIP Toolbox, very neat, but the driver recommendation should be
fixed :)
