It is good that Ubuntu's own archives have consistency measures to avoid
the problem. But they have never been the only source of Ubuntu
software, and since 11.04 they haven't even been the only source of
software available by default. We can apply the same checks to MyApps

Matthew, I'm not sure why this would ever be shown *except* during
alpha/beta testing. Our rules on archive consistency should prevent
this from ever being shown in a released version of Ubuntu, unless
someone has opted in to testing of -proposed (which would seem to
warrant the same handling as a
