I'm reading this bug report *after* i downloaded and burned the 7.04 i386 beta
cd. I'm having the same problem.
After a while i get:

Same problem as of today. Both i386 and amd64 versions.
I'm assuming that everyone reporting this problem doesn't have a floppy drive.
I got rid of the:
udev-event[2113]: run_program: '/sbin/modprobe' abnormal exit
by disabling the floppy drive in my BIOS. But unfortunately the
installer didn't
I'm seeing this same problem, with the feisty-desktop-amd64 iso
downloaded today. I have a JMicron/ICH8 motherboard.
