Though apparently there is the same problem for Compiz which, if I
recall, correctly, uses gtk-window-decorator:

I've removed the beryl upstream repository from my sources.list and now
it seems that there are some missing dependencies in the beryl package
from universe:
$ sudo apt-get install beryl
