Public bug reported: I installed a larger update, which seemed like distribution upgrade. I had ubuntu 12.04 beta already before the upgrade, maybe we got now more stable one? Anyway I also had gnome shell installed, and working.
However, after the upgrade, which I think updated kernels too as burg was replaced with grub and options were different, gnome shell stopped working. When I choose Gnome as my window manager on login screen and try to log in, I can login but it never loads anything. I can see the background and move the mouse that's it. I am also unable to open anything like terminal for instance. Only thing I can do is click ctrl alt and f1, restart lightdm and then I get back to login screen. I can log in with unity, but not with gnome. This worked before update, but not anymore. Reboot has no effect on the issue.
