Public bug reported:

Most of the time with my Toshiba laptop, suspend/resume works OK.
However, sometimes (around 1 time in 4) suspend fails (during going to
sleep) with the following symptoms:

- Screen goes dark, backlight off
- Screen remains blank, backlight comes back on
- No flashing caps or num lock
- Increased fan activity after approx 10 seconds
- Ctrl+Alt+Del , Ctrl+Alt+F1, short press on power button, REISUB all have no
effect.
- Only way to recover system is to hold down power button.

Suspending from the console using sudo pm-suspend does generate some
text, unfortunately, it appears on the screen too briefly to take a
photo. I will attach dmesg and pm-suspend logs shortly.

This did work in the past, however, it was some time (and several kernel
versions) ago. With the -12 dbgsym kernel installed, I was able to run
locatehang, which returned:

$ sudo ./locatehang
[sudo] password for charlie:
Looking for function that matches hash from the Magic Number from the kernel
log.
  Magic: 3:476:552 maps to hash: 867a43
  Hash matches: disable_nonboot_cpus() (address: ffffffff81060790)

However, manual offlining following advice from the below thread did not seem
to help.
