Summary from IRC discussion between Ara, you, and release team: It seems
the checkbox team is pretty firm about keeping -qt. If it's possible to
convert the tests by Monday, we can get that package in on Monday still,
as it doesn't jeopardize other packages. If not, could we get that after
beta-2,
With the checkbox team, I have solved the issues that prevented me from
migrating to -qt (I believe) and I will convert the tests this weekend
in time for monday packaging. Thanks!

This actually sounds quite worrysome. I had assumed that -gtk and -qt
are merely two different GUIs, and the tests would work with both. If
-qt breaks all existing tests, then it is perhaps better to revert to
-gtk for precise, and then switch to -qt and port the tests in 12.10?

Martin, this was intended to be the case, but after trying to run the
tests and having them give errors, I consulted the checkbox team and
discovered that the qt version does break existing tests, and attempts
to convert have been non-trivial. I do want to convert to using -qt, but

new dependencies? How big is the package itself, does it ship with large
data files?
I'm ok with giving this a NEW review.

That's right, -gtk was dropped per request from the checkbox team. Can
app-testing be adopted to work with -qt?

Martin, I have been attempting to make it work with -qt, but discovered
last evening that the test format had changed and was no longer working.
I confirmed this with the checkbox team this morning. If this cannot go
without using -qt (or you would prefer it), at this point I would need
