This is still the case for Hardy Alpha1 Kubuntu Live-CD.
It refers to the widget popping up when the advanced button is clicked
in the last step of the installation. It is possible to (un)check the
installation of the bootloader. After this there is the comment "Help
for grub device selection goe
/var/log/installer/partman and /var/log/installer/syslog are both empty
and can't be uploaded.
