Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz
To get it out of the way: No, I'm not using nVidia or ATi (yes, I know it'll be the first question). I'm using Intel graphics. Yes, compiz is definitely running. Yes, gtk-window-decorator is running. Beryl works for me and ahs always worked for me. Compiz has never worked for me. Here are the ways I've tried to start Compiz: 1. Using the Beryl-Manager applet, change to gtk window decorator, change to compiz 2. Starting in Beryl, use "Desktop Effects" app in System > Preferences 3. Starting in Metacity, use "Desktop Effects app in System > Preferences What works: I can alt+tab between windows I can alt click drag windows around What doesn't work: No window borders (and like I said above, yes, gtk window decorator is running) No virtual desktops No wobbly windows No cube I've tried killing and restarting gtk window decorator multiple times to no avail.
