weird, do it still happen if you restart nautilus? i.e nautilus --quit

you upgrade that day? Could you rm .xsession-errors, restart your
session and add that log to the bug?

Yes, the bug is specific to nautilus. I don't know what all was updated
that day, but some unity packages were definitely part of it (then I
encountered some crazy unity bugs). Here's the .xsession-errors.
