In general offlineimap uses exceptions to report almost all errors. It
could be argued to change this; it should then be reported as a wishlist
bug against upstream: http://packages.debian.org/sid/offlineimap
Regarding apport, it is only turned on during development, so the
behavior experienced
I'm still getting the same issue, using 5.99.4 version. I guess that the
exception should be a warning, because this function is a called when another
offlineimap is detected.
I guess that this would really solve the problem.
