Public bug reported: The following problem occurs when performing these steps and conditions:
multi-monitor setup with primary screen on left with resolution of 1920x1080 and secondary screen on right with resolution of 1600x900: open terminal app, either terminator or gnome-terminal using either screens launcher "snap" window to bottom half of screen using ctrl-alt-2 at this point terminal app looks like it has foreground focus. click on terminal app, immediately it looses foreground focus and you end up with having the terminal open but clicking on whatever is below it, whether it's the desktop or an application below it. you can't type or click anywhere on the app. To gain access to the window as a workaround I can try move to another desktop and back again but causes some other strange issues. opening a new app and playing with different apps focus seems to eventually jog the terminal back into use. I have attached a video of this, also note that when i do move to another desktop and back again the window appears on a different monitor. when i try grab that app with alt, left click and hold the app, it essentially disappears off the screen as there is an issue with where the relative location of the app is. I have logged a similar issue like this here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/937665 but so far no-one has attended to it. Note due to the resolution size totem won't play the video but despite vlc complaining it does play it in the end ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: compiz 1:0.9.7.2-0ubuntu4 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-17.27-generic 3.2.6 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-17-generic x86_64 .tmp.unity.scope.cities: Error: [Errno 21] Is a directory: '/tmp/unity-scope-cities' .tmp.unity.support.test.0: ApportVersion: 1.95-0ubuntu1 Architecture: amd64 CompizPlugins: [core, composite, opengl, decor, imgpng, snap, move, compiztoolbox, unitymtgrabhandles, vpswitch, gnomecompat, regex, resize, place, grid, mousepoll, session, animation, workarounds, wall, expo, fade, ezoom, scale, unityshell, scaleaddon] CompositorRunning: compiz Date: Fri Mar 30 15:26:42 2012 DistUpgraded: Fresh install DistroCodename: precise DistroVariant: ubuntu DkmsStatus: virtualbox, 4.1.10, 3.2.0-17-generic, x86_64: installed EcryptfsInUse: Yes InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Alpha amd64 (20111129.1) MachineType: Dell Inc.
