Title:
eclipse doesn't start !MESSAGE Missing imported package
com.ibm.icu.text_0.0.0.
To manage
hi Ricardo and Roger,
I'd experienced exactly the same problem. Try dpk -l | grep swt and see
if a few packages libswt-gtk-3.6-* are installed. If so, remove them and the
errors should disappear and eclipse will start normally.
Good luck.

You received this bug notification because
I have eclipse 3.7.2. Removed .eclipse directory. Get the same error
message:
!SESSION 2012-07-27 11:37:23.523 ---
eclipse.buildId=I20110613-1736

BootLoader constants: OS=linux, ARCH=x86_64, WS=gtk,
I upgrade my ubuntu every six month since ubuntu 10.04.
In my notebook every thing works perfectly, but in my desktop computer
eclipse doesn't start. I tried delete the folder .eclipse, uninstall all
plugins and reinstall eclipse, but stills doesn't work.
I manually uninstall all eclipse
Potentially not resolved after all: I see very similar bug with a fresh
new ubuntu install today:

BootLoader constants: OS=linux,
yes, 3.7.2 corrected this.

eclipse doesn't start !MESSAGE Missing imported package

To manage
The workaround allows Eclipse to be started, but breaks all language
plugins. (Neither the C/C++ nor the Java plugin, both of which I have
installed, seem to be available.)

Nevermind, today's update to 3.7.2 fixes the problem (after removing
~/.eclipse).

I am experiencing this same issue on a new install of 12.04 beta 2 x86
Temporary workaround:
Add the following line to
