shinyblue, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from

I am getting the same issue with kernel v3.2.0-25. I have got Dell 1555
with fglrx installed.

The v3.4 kernel is now available in release candidates. Would it be possible
for you to see if the bug exists in v3.4-rc6:

I have now tested without fglrx-updates and can confirm that (on the one
test I've done), this problem does not occur with the OS ATI/Radeon
driver installed.
Is the best thing to do to move this data over to fglrx(-updates)?

There is a similar bug, which we are bisecting: bug 944772. That bug is
fixed in upstream v3.3-rc7. Can you test that kernel, to see if this
bug is a duplicate? The v3.3-rc7 kernel can be downloaded from:

I got some errors while installing with dpkg, but again it seemed to
have installed.

error message at 2s intervals. So eventually the rescue mode menu came
up, but then it got overwritten with this repeating error, and then the
thing rebooted by itself.
