Thank you for your bug report, how do you change those options? does it
happen in any directory? can you confirm in a guest session? the sorting
order is kept there when doing what you described in your second case

Nautilus 3.4.0 does not remember the sort order of folders.
To reproduce:
- Try to manually arrange the items on the desktop, then log out and log
- back in and notice that nautilus sorts the items in default alphabetic

I deleted the ~/.config directory but the issue didn't go away. Any idea
