Public bug reported:
If I navigate to a file with a file manager (Dolphin) and right click on it, and select "Open with -> gedit", a gedit window opens with that file, but it also has "Untitled document" open. When you try to close gedit after that, it complains "Untitled Document" is not saved. --- Special note: I originally installed ubuntu (with Unity), and then installed kde-full packaged and this bug is happening when I work from KDE --- ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: gedit 3.4.0-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-20.33-generic 3.2.12 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-20-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia ApportVersion: 2.0-0ubuntu4 Architecture: amd64 Date: Thu Apr 5 18:29:55 2012 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/gedit InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Beta amd64 (20120328) ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_CA:en LANG=en_CA.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: gedit UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: gedit (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug precise -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/974692 Title: Opening a File With Context Menu Opens "Untitled Document" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gedit/+bug/974692/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
