It seems that this is a bug in RGBA anti-aliasing. If you change anti-
aliasing to grayscale, the bug disappears.
Anti-aliasing settings can be changed in Ubuntu Tweak or in MyUnity
under Fonts section.

Above described test case is much more visible in Unity 2D.
So there is also a problem in Unity 3D and I think it is the same bug as
in 2D.

Pixeled fonts seem to be present on Unity 3D too. But it is less visible
then in Unity 2D.
For test open nautilus. Then open "View" pop-up menu. While "View" menu
is selected/highlighted, "View" text becomes crisp without pixel noise
around it.
