I guess adding "usb-modeswitch" will mean "usb-modeswitch-data" is also
added as there is dependency?

As far as I can recall this package was not installed by default in any
of the previous lubuntu releases either? I had the same problem with the
package not being available, pretty bad if you just installed Lubuntu on
some new machine before you left home and are now trying to get online
with the U
