Public bug reported: I upgraded from oneiric using kubuntu-devel-release-upgrade
Apt is configured to download through apt-cacher-ng, which is running on the same machine (the machine being upgraded) The upgrade of apt-cacher-ng itself seems to have caused an infinite stall (hang) of the upgrade process. Nothing happened for a number of minutes. No cpu activity, no network activity. I could solve the problem by executing $ /etc/init.d/apt-cacher-ng restart ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: update-manager (not installed) ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.0.0-17.30-generic 3.0.22 Uname: Linux 3.0.0-17-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: vboxpci vboxnetadp vboxnetflt vboxdrv ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu2 Architecture: amd64 Date: Thu Apr 12 19:15:00 2012 InstallationMedia: Kubuntu 10.04.1 LTS "Lucid Lynx" - Release amd64 (20100816.2) ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE= TERM=xterm LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: update-manager UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to precise on 2012-04-12 (0 days ago) ** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug dist-upgrade precise -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/980081 Title: infinite stall during upgrade to precise due to upgrade of apt-cacher- ng To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/980081/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
