I committed a new version which is as close to a circle as it gets and
should be fine for updating 12.04. Please verify.
The deviation is still not gone, but considering the graphic is 106px on
a center gradient background I doubt it to be noticeable.

So, I am going to consider this fixed, the present version approaches a
prefect circle though it won't ever be one. The correct solution is to
fix the official logo and then redo the splash artwork accordingly,
which is out of scope for kubuntu-default-settings.

Well yes, as it turns out the reference logo is already not forming a
proper circle, so since the splash artwork uses thickened gears the
misplacement remains.

the same part . just try to create a 60x60 circle in the logo. it isnt
possible. it always looks like an oval
