Public bug reported: System disks died on file server. Bought a new system drive and decided to do a fresh install. After completing fresh install started rebuilding the raid array with mdadm. While that was progressing noticed none of the computers on the lan where able to reach the internet. Checked file server. There was a linux kernel panic up on the screen. Unplugging the computer allowed other computers to connect to the internet. Rebooted file server. Continue raid rebuild without Ethernet plugged in.
