I also have experienced the same event on Acer AO522 with 11.10 and 12.04 LTS.
The problem finished when I enlarge swap partition from 2GB to 4GB.

Please help me understand how this bug can be an "upstream bug" since I
tested with 2 different Kernels (12.04 current 3.2.0-23-generic and
upstream 3.4.0-030400rc3-generic) and ended up with identical results:
1-both Kernels freeze within seconds after autologin when booting from
power on (when HD
