This bug makes qemu unusuable on ubuntu via remote-x, since it resizes
the window hundreds or thousands of times and each time requires the
remote system to redraw the display, which can take several seconds each
time.

I think I managed to find a way to reproduce this problem:
1 Get a PC capable of doing NVidia TwinView
2 Install Vanilla Ubuntu Precise
3 Configure Xorg to do TwinView
4 Log in (Unity 3D) and use QEmu
My laptop (non-twinview, Precise, Unity) does not have this problem,
while I can reproduce the f

It seems to me that this has something to do with the desktop setup. My
colleagues and I are all using qemu on Precise, but I am the only one
running Unity (and the 3D layer, Compiz?). I will try how things are on
my non-twinview laptop with an almost identical setup.
