Public bug reported:

Trying to upgrade from Oneric to Precise Beta 2 using "update-manager
-d" will not complete. Calculating changes and downloading packages
works fine, but once the upgrade gets to the install phase it aborts
with this error "Could not install the upgrades". Running update-manager
again prompts me to do a partial upgrade, which fails with the exact
same error. I am now stuck in limbo between the two releases. Looking at
the terminal output the exact error seems to be "Could not early remove
python-minimal". Here is all the output:

$sudo update-manager -d
