Ican confirm the exactly same scenario as stated in

after kdelibs latest update on gutsy, kopete cannot connect to msn
without crashing (same backtrace).
Also I did not see any problem with ssl and konqueror before this
here is the fix

I see the exact same problem, and same backtrace, on Gutsy as of this
moring. The strange thing is that I've had it working for more than a
month, and then suddenly today, kopete starts crashing.

Yep, me too, just started happening today. I did do an 'aptitude dist-
upgrade' today to get latest Gutsy changes, but I don't think any KDE
libraries were changed. I tried clearing all my kopete config out and
just adding a MSN account, and I get the same thing.
Is it possible that the MSN
I got the same issue... just after I add some emoticons to it
I delete everything about kopete and kopeterc by my linux profile, but
it keep to crash when I try to log with MSN account
that's what I get if I launch from shell
