I've had the same problem with my Ubuntu. I did a fresh install on my
girlfriends computer, when you run pppoeconf the first time, it works
beautifully. Once you reboot the computer, I get teh same error as the
guy above me. I've searched online for a fix, I first found out that
ubuntu does not

Yes, i am experiencing the same behaviour. Dsl connection sometimes
won't start. 8 out of 10 times it doesn't start on boot.
