Thanks for the patch! We're sorry we do not have the time to look at all
the bug reports and all the patches. If you could forward this to the
author of the application (upstream) to hear his comments on it, it
would be great.

i'm not a coder btw: is there something I have to do to get this patch
included in the default gmail-notify package? Do I contact the ubuntu
package maintainer, or the main package maintainer (found his email in
the README)? or is it

I've attached a patch that adds a new background image (inverted
colours) and adds an option to the config screen to 'use dark
background'
note that gmail-notify has to be restarted for this option to take
