There is a much newer version at the KeePassX website:
http://www.keepassx.org/downloads
Just download and install the newest DEB binary package. This fixes the
problem for me on Ubuntu 8.04. It would be nice if the good people at
Ubuntu would put the new version in their repositories.

I've had this problem for quite awhile. It was true when using 7.10 and
is still true using 8.04. It crashes with a segmentation fault. The last
line in my /var/log/syslog says May 17 15:30:37 kfrance-home kernel:
[27836.505629] keepass[16944]: segfault at 0039 eip 080667ca esp
